The Leipzig IQ Network started its work in the new year.

The project is a cooperation between Aufbauwerk, the Department for Migration and Integration of the City of Leipzig, the association Wirtschaft für ein weltoffenes Sachsen e.V., the DAA Deutsche Angestellten-Akademie, the Leipzig Chamber of Crafts, the ZAW Zentrum für Aus- und Weiterbildung Leipzig, the Verwaltungs- und Wirtschafts- Akademie Leipzig GmbH and the association Arbeit und Leben Sachsen. The 8 partners from the region are committed to the educationally adequate integration of people of foreign origin into the labour market.

The project, which is funded by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS), aims to improve integration and access to the labour market and to increase equal opportunities. Various measures are offered, including adaptation qualifications, bridging measures, coaching and accompaniment as well as low-threshold procedures to make non-formal and informal competences visible.

Another goal is to reduce barriers and discrimination in labour market integration and to ensure that employees remain in the region in the long term. To achieve this, the network will link up with labour market actors such as companies, employment agencies, job centres, the Federal Employment Agency, state and local governments and other project networks.

The project is coordinated by Aufbauwerk Region Leipzig.
